If it’s happening during the writing process then the problem is with the drive. If you do a fair amount of burning the lens may have a buildup, try running a lens cleaning disc in the drive. If that doesn’t help then it’s possible the laser is failing and the drive would need replacing.

To re-enable Nero 7, follow the same procedure and put a check for Enable Nero 7 in Nero Scout Options instead of unchecking it.

I was able to get Nero to work on Vista but I’m having problems with getting it to work on Windows 7. I don’t really need it with Windows 7 but I got used to using Nero.

Surely this has been resolved in Vista now. My system came with Roxio Creator and to the extent I’ve needed to create CDs and DVDs, it’s done the job. Thanks for the information.
