I have a 2tb external hard drive I use for extra storage for my dish network receiver. I was wondering if I could partition this hard drive after I loaded the dish network software on to it so I could also use it as a back up for my network too?

I am thinking of buying something like a Buffalo LinkStation Live 1TB or Seagate GoFlex Home 1TB which are hard drives which plugs into my router and provides network storage. If I want to transfer data wirelessly from my laptop to the hard drive does it actually use my internet connection?

This product performs as stated in the ads, it is about the same price as a regular external drive but after setup it can be used from the local network or from the internet. The setup was easy and I was able to access the drive from all three of my network devices and the internet in a matter of minutes. You can set permissions for individual devices or people you wnt to give access over the internet. Great product for the money.torrent
